Sorry to hear about your buddy Tom. Having spent a career in the military I've lost a few friends under similar circumstances.

May be, it'll interestingly for somebody.
    Here my pipe-lighters collection.

P.S. Today I've made photos of about all my lighters.
I forgot how much I have, and found "new" lighters.

    Thumbs up

    Thanks, Alex.

It was interesting for me! My favorite is still the Ronson Table model. Very oldschool art deco.

Cool collection. Can't wait to see pictures of the "new" ones.

    Tom,

That's a hard one... 39 months in Baghdad and I saw a lot of boys come and go.... And a lot come home draped in an American Flag...

I had the privlege to escourt 6 home Christmas of 2006... It was a humbling experence.
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...

I know what you guys mean. I lost 5 friends killed in the line of duty within 7 years. It's hard to handle when your close to them.

Time is running, but people are still dying in Afghanistan.
I've lost many friends there. They were in Soviet Army. I was in the Karabakh war there, in Israeli wars here ...
Now my daughter in the army, she is on the boundary.
    I'm sorry, I don't like talk about wars ...
We must remember about missing war friends.
But we must continue to live, and talk about peace themes.

    Good afternoon Gents.

With the sister ship at sea. The whole northern Baltic Sea is now covered with thick ice. Temps are about -25 C and i do not even want to know how much is it with wind chill factor.

Smoking my Peterson and Erinmore, waiting for my friday beer.
