The Highgate was a standard Comoy's line. Not sure on the exact dating without seeing the pipe in person. The 483 stands for: Large, Straight Shank, Saddle Stem, Globe Shape. Nice pipe!

Thanks for the info! I've poked around some, and discovered that the Highgate - along with the rest of my pipes are nothing spectacular, but the shape info is awesome! I'll post more when I can to fish for more info. Thanks again. Cheers!

It doesn't matter what society thinks about your pipes... They are your's and if you like them... THAT'S all that matters... ENJOY!

No problem! I can date it with good pictures of ALL the nomenclature if you are interested in that. I'll keep an eye out for future postings from you if you want the shape info on the others!

For those of you who have been following things at my website, the sandblaster is finally set up! I just finished my first commission pipe - a blasted pot with cocobolo stem extension. She'll be headed to her new home in New Jersey tomorrow. I should finally have 5 or 6 blasted pipes on the website within the next week.

Eric - I'd love to browse your site. Would you mind posting a link? As for the help on identifying pipes, thank you sir. I'll have to post more pics with all of the markings from my digital in the future.

Thanks for the info Eric. Beautiful pipes. I totally understand about not wanting to ruffle feathers in a friendly place.

    Have a good evening gentlemen.

EDIT: Sheesh! I need a new camera desperately!

Comoy's 309= XL (or "extraordinare" as Comoy's liked to say) straight shank liverpool.

I really like the whole canadian/lumberman/liverpool family! Great looking pipe!
