One of my female friends keeps trying to get away with wearing it (and keeping it) for herself.
You wear whatever you like mate, have a look in the mirror to see if it suits your face (or ask someone what they think) and go for it. I would look rather silly in a porkpie or bowler hat as they don't suit my face, but flatcaps, fedora's and many akubra styles suit me just fine.

I don't tend to smoke that much in public here, simply because, knowing my luck, I'll be booked for smoking in one of the many places it's frowned upon to smoke here, but I do light up at rest stops when I'm on the road, on my front (street facing) veranda and the occassional public place where I'm sure it is allowable (We have many bans and prohibitions in this, so called, free country).

The hat and the pipe seem to go well together and I will see if I can find a picture later, to put up, showing me with both.

Wow..this hit a nerve with me.I wear a particularly distinct sort of flat cap and sometimes a Greek hat and I do smoke my pipes in public.Sometimes while riding my bike which is always amusing to me when I pass those upscale types with all their healthy bike gear on.I too will post some pics of eccentricity when the chance arrives. And Mick....I think I'm gonna end up being a Peterson addict. My Petey is the one I always want to reach for now. Cheers guys !!

Outside of the dinner table, and bed, I'm seldom without a hat. Generally it's a Panama (because of local climate) but in the cooler months I sport the occassional wool felt fedora. I also smoke my pipe out in public I doubt the people at work could identify me without my trademark hat, pipe and flower shirt. The next thing I'll be self conscious about is incontinence. Every thing I ever had to prove to the world, I've already proven. The rest will be me having fun and doing what makes me happy. Anyone who doesn't like that has a problem of their own that is none of my concern.

    In Ft. Myers I bought a Barmah-hat in 2010.
This is a beautiful hat, made in Australia.

E-tom Am I not looking enough or is it that all these awesome shorty pipes are only made overseas. Wait lemme guess...this is probably a $200 or $300 cause y'know my champagne taste radar does this to me every time. I have the same problem with women.Supermodel eyes I have.
