Here are three of my show Cob's... Kinda like a Dunhill... but not really
Do you just sand the varnish off?

Also, I have MM that I've smoked about 4 times, but I can't get past the burnt wood taste from where the shank sticks into the bowl. Is there anything to be done about that?

Happy St Patrick's Day!! Some Orlik golden sliced in the Jirsa sounds good on this beautiful Spring day! Sorry to those still in the grip of winter.

Peterson's University Flake in a bent Edward's, Samuel Smith Chocolate Stout x 2, I'm pretty relaxed right now.
I know, the pipe should also be a Peterson but alas, I don't own one (yet)
The older I get, the better I was

Get a small 3/4" soft wire brush like this and use it in your drill at low speed and run it up and down the chamber 2-3 times to get the varnish out...

As far as the shank in the bowl... Use a thin sharp knife and just work on it (wittle) a little at a time... Or just don't smoke it that far down...

    An amazing organ concert:
The organist Stefan Kießling from Leipzig, Saxony played
    Buxtehude, Bach and Mendelssohn Bartholdy

Just spent a bit of relaxing time with the Pete (again, I know, but it is an old friend after all) reading the Hobbit and enjoying a nice cuppa tea. Life is good.

Yesterday was a Pete system and a couple cobs with University flake while relaxing in the kilt for St. Patricks day. Today started with Carter Hall in a cob and is wrapping up with OJK in the Benton.
