As promised, here are a couple pics of my newly aquired Ferndown (Les Wood). So far I've smoked a few bowls of Sunday Afternoon Pipe through it and it's breaking in nicely. I'm quite happy with this pipe

Off work today.Going to work around the house and smoke my home made pipe and smoke a Habana Cuba, Romeo Julieta Cuban sometime today.

Last night's smoke was a bowl full of 1Q (Yorkshire) in a basket pipe from the local smoke shop. It was very pleasant. I have been burning through some "Amaretto" and prefer the 1Q hands down. The Amaretto is heavily cased and a very wet smoke even after drying over night. Hard to keep lit. The 1Q was nice and sweet and relaxing.

It would seem that after several years of remission my PAD/TAD is back in a big way. What next? Shiny new razors, a new hone? Oh well, what are you gonna do, work, eat and sleep? All work and no play makes this GI a dull boy.

I'm normally not a huge fan of English blends but this is one that is to my liking (Dunhill Early Morning Pipe being the other.) I hear good things about the Frog Morton series but have yet to sample any.

It's a damn shame we do not have McClellands in the EU, as all i've heard is just good about them. However, life's too short to try all the blends of the world. I'm trying to hang on with 5 or 6 blends of my choice and be happy with it.
Luckily we have several decent English blends, SL being one of them. SG's Balkan flakes and Presbyterian are ok too, as well as JF Germain's '1820' or Dunhill '965'

Hey eTom,

I was looking at estate pipes yesterday, and saw one that the bowl was carved to look like a jeep. Made me think of you. It looked kinda crude and tacky, like a High School woodshop project. On another thread I saw that you stopped at the General Patton tank museum. I've only been by there once, pretty country in that area!! JK.
