A match made in heaven for sure. My morning and lunchtime smokes were both OJK in a Nording Egg. The drive home smoke was Squadron Leader in a bent Edwards. All great smokes.

This Squadron Leader is tempting me to do some exploration of various Oriental blends available in bulk. C&D has a couple as does Peter Stokebye. None seem to be very Latakia heavy, mostly comprised of various Orientals and some Virginia with just a dash of burning tires thrown in for good measure. I was able to locate Squadron Leader in bulk but a pound runs up north of $65, the alternatives come in at about half that so let the tasting begin. In any case, I doubt these blends will ever replace my beloved burleys in the first chair but variety is the spice of life. A pound of any of the Oriental blends would likely last me a good long time as even Squadron Leader is NOT a daily go to. I'm probaby about 10 ounces into a pound of OJK that I ordered on 01 November. I've learned in my travels that the true mark of a go to blend is how quickly it disappears when you order it. I've found that I self-taper off of blends that I "really want to like" but you just can't fake something that's so good that you burn it all the time. Codger burlies (Granger, PA, etc.) also seem to disappear at an alarming rate.

It was Peterson's Nutty Cut in a Kaywoodie billiard and a Nosewarmer cob. Got a Sav. #320 Author for Christmas so I will fire it up tonight with some C&D Chestnuts Roasting once the kiddos hit the sack.
