The pipe rest above looks like it could be a key chain travel strop.

Friday evening pipe. Chocolate Flakes from estate sale catch: vintage Danish Svendborg, stamped by the carver 'JH'.
On the side local dark lager 'Laiska Jaakko'

And now something totally irrelevant and useless information, as usual:

The term 'Laiska Jaakko' (= Lazy Jakob) refers to Jakob de la Gardie (1583-1652) who was an Estonian born statesman and marshall of the Swedish Empire. The history books as well as the local folklore stories say the he was a modest and popular landlord around here. He became specially famous for not making quick decisions but rather liked to think, and re-think and re-think before making any decisions, if not even then.
At the times of Ingrian Wars he and his troops (consisting Swedish & Finnish army and cavalry and Scottish mercenaries) were occupying the Russian city of Novgorod for six years. From those days comes a folklore song, probably made by some pissed off soldier: 'many summers went away, many winters went away, but Lazy Jakob is still here. He just stays. Another still popular kindergarden & pub song.
Howevers, later he occupied Moscow. No other military commander has been able to such thing ever since.
What makes this special is that for some time he used to be a landlord of the village i live now. The remains of his mansion are still there not so far from here.

Nosewarmer, that looks like a great "outside pipe", if you don't mind my asking, where did you find it? I'd like to add it to my rotation.

Size: 61.3 KBYep, I've been slacking, but with a fever that hit a high of 105 Friday I haven't been doing much of anything for a while. Still not feeling 100% but I'm back to work today. A little catching up here with the last 2 before I got sick. My Country Gent with some 1Q and my Peterson Donegal Rocky 408 with Park Lane's Trout Brook.

Hello gents there are some nice looking pipes posted on here. I am looking for a nice churchwarden to get back into smoking a pipe. I had a Dr. Grabow for a while until I gave it to my brother. I miss smoking a pipe and have always wanted a churchwarden. I have found a few I like peculiarity the wizard and ranger from macqueenpipes.com, eacarey.com has a nice selection to. Do any of you guys have a suggestion on where to look for a nice churchwarden? If it matters I will be smoking Captain Black Royal out of it.
