Glad you're enjoying them. I met the guy who invented both of these blends (Bob Runowski) and was introduced to OJK probably 7 years ago now. Joe Krantz was in fact, Bob's maternal Grandfather. Naturally a pipe smoker who leaned toward very stiff burlies. Bob said when he first mixed OJK, it tasted like something his grandfather would have smoked so he decided to name the blend after his grandpa, thus Old Joe Krantz. Bob passed away a few years ago but C&D still sells a bunch of his blends. He was very fond of the old school classic American burlies, that I would later dub "codger burlies".

Here a picture of Philip D. Murphy and Tammy S. Murphy together with the vice-principal of the Technical University Dresden, Prof. Schaefer

BTW: we strolled through Dresden after his speech and shot some pictures in the town. It's 10 p.m. now here in Germany. I'll post the other pictures tomorrow...

Big pipe order today. Two new Peterson pipes on the way, along with tobacco, pipe cleaning kit and some other odds and ends.

The first pipe I purchased was a Peterson System 313 smooth with a P-Lip (love the p-lips).

The second is a small Peterson Calabash. I thought this would work perfectly for a nice short smoke when writing e-mails, or doing other tedious tasks.

I also ordered 8 oz. of Black Gold from Highland cigars. It's been getting great reviews on YouTube, so I thought I would try it. Then I also ordered some for the tobacco shelf like Frog Morton on the Bayou (100 g.), Frog Morton on the Town (100 g.) and Dunhill Nightcap.

Now I get to spend the next week and a half sitting in the window, waiting for the delivery trucks to start showing up.
God be in my head and in my understanding. God be in my eyes and in my looking. God be in my mouth and in my speaking. God be in my heart and in my thinking. God be at my end and my departing. -Amen

It would appear that my days of not having a Peterson will soon be over. I promised myself this one
Peterson Kinsale Rusticated (XL23) P-Lip Pipes at Smoking Pipes .com

At the end of the summer semester if I can successfully defend my 4.0 GPA (I've found it's a nice carrot in front of the horse.) I'm currently almost half way through the semester so I've got about 8 more weeks. The GPA is still in tact and I'm jobbin my butt off looking forward to my new Peterson. I've promised myself one for years but somehow never got around to it. This is gonna be the dogs bollocks
