Here lately I've been crazy busy so I dip more snuff than smoke but evenings are generally good for a quick pipe or cigar. Come to think of it, I've got a Mighty Mighty laying around here somewhere. Sounds like a go for Friday evening with a cold beer. I just called in a tobacco strike myself, 1 LBS of OJK and a can of MacBaren Plumcake.
It's definitely one of my favorites and a great bang for your buck stick. I love smoking a pipe while doing homework, it helps to relax and unwind during the daily grind. How's being a student again treating you?

I love navy flake. I prefer to rub it out as opposed to the fold and stuff method.

I have great news gentlemen. I friend of mine that I introduced into the world of cigars and fine spirits last year has finally seen the light. He called me a couple nights ago and was debating buying a Nording freehand. I convinced him to wait on the briar. So I gave him a couple of cobs and ounces of Carter Hall, OJK, Pembroke, and Navy flake. Along with a nice night of instruction on how to load, light, tamp, smoke and care for a pipe. So far he loves it and I think I may have another convert and finally have someone to enjoy a pipe with now.

Very pretty pipe! I really like the looks of the meers, the fact that they develop a color and personality of their own is neat!

So long as the friend enjoys companionable silence. I like to just sit and contemplate, either my own thoughts or others conversation, while I smoke a pipe. I don't prefer being drawn into a conversation as that takes away from my enjoyment of the pipe. Due, mostly, to me being a bit of a talker when I get started. The best companions of pipe smoking are a good dog, or a good book. Or both.

That he is. We seem to get along well enough to be able to either hold a conversation or just sit in silence. It works out pretty well. In the past we've on many a night smoked cigars into the wee hours of the morning. Now we'll add pipes to the mix.
