Now the situation is much better.
I think the airports will work again.
But a lot of trains are late.
Some streets are closed, some villages no electricity, traffic jam, and a lot of snow, some regions with a temperature -20C.
My shovel destroyed, tomorrow I get a new one (or two).
I prepared my BMW X5 so my wife will find her way to work tomorrow.
It is winter in Germany, really.

Here we are so used to snow that is not a big thing really. Actually the more the better - winter without a snow would be very dark and wet like no winter at all. It is the cold temps that i dislike. As soon as it gets below -20C (-4F) i rather stay indoors.
However i can empathise all those who live in continental Europe or eastern coast of the USA right now. It is almost impossible to get prepared for something that isn't likely to happen - such as heavy snowfall during winter.
Currently we have about 60 cm of snow and more coming down as there is another snow storm going on until wednesday says the weatherman. Since yesterday the road from my home to the bridge that goes to town was blocked because of the snow, making my wife worried as it is impossible to get to work but now the road is open again. Being on a vacation i had no worries. I have few books, food, my pipes and few beers for the evening so things couldn't be better.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Thanked: 488Guys it seems when Germany has a storm it's a good one:-) Of course Sailor I can understand why you like the snow last year here in northern Missouri we had snow from mid December until mid March very unusual for us but I sure enjoyed it.
I guess the trains are late because the tracks have to be cleared for the hi speed trains?
I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT CHRISTMAS!!!!
