Evening pipe & beer. 1864 from Atalante. Westheimer Weißbier.

And this time i wont try to send any pics of a birds i've taken lately. Not too much daylight hours any more.

However, i'll post you a link. Whatever happens in a big world, this has absolutely been a top 1 front page for the whole week here.

    Drowning owl rescue.

In unlikely case some of you gents do not understand Finnish i give a long story short:
Local dude was kayaking at the nearby lake one morning when he saw something floating. After getting close he saw it was an exhausted baby owl. Crows make Stuka attacks against owls every now and then; this time this little fellow had made a crash landing into a lake but couldn't get back airborne no more.
At first it tried to escape and swim away but after few seconds it turned around, came back and tried to get on deck of the kayak. Luckily the man in the kayak was a real gentleman so he helped the owl. Pretty soon the owl crawled under his vest, being hypothermic after being in ice cold water for maybe many hours.
Man paddled home with the owl under his vest and upon getting back to his house his wife put it in the cardboard box next to their fireplace.
The owl seemed to be like dead but at night it started to make some hell of a noise so they taught that maybe it had warmed up enough. They took the box out, opened and away the little owl flew.
Not much stories with happy endings these days but this was surely one.

Here are a couple of my latest experiments. [Another of my excellent pictures!]

The small bowl still lasted 25 minutes.

I like the 965 but my wife commented, "I can sure smell the pipe on you tonight."

As predicted this turned out to totally be a match made in heaven. I've often heard the acronymn PAD but I never thought it actually meant Peterson Acquisition Disorder. I'm eyeballing a straight variant and of course I'd like a p-lip system pipe. Maybe one day.
