I have two Nording Freehands that are great smokers. I've fondeled several others that I had to pass on. The draft holes were grossly off center, and in one case 1/4" above the bottom of the chamber. No Bueno.
The last one I saw at a shop in San Diego had the most beautiful grain I've ever seen for a pipe in that price range. I had to have it. Yet after bending 5 pipe cleaners, I just could not get one to pass thru the pipe. I gave it to the clerk to try, and he gave up after 4 attempts. Needless to say, the pipe went back into the case, and I went home empty handed

It really surprises me to hear that about Nordings. I've always considered them to be a top brand, and can't imagine that something like the pipes you passed on would have gotten out of the shop.

I left my job last Thursday to take on a full-time job, yes, I was only working part-time... The hours dried up and in order to keep the cash flowing, I had to find a new job...

Right now I have a quality control job for the sixth largest pork producer... Don't worry, no smoking in the hog sites or the processing centers, I get to oversee the cleaning of the trailers for the safety of the animals...

So if you eat Oscar Meyer or Johnsonville, you can a sure that your pork is healthy... The other white meat

So my dilemma... I'm out of standard cobs...

I have either tweaked them, too nice to have in a wash center or I have gifted them to others... I have never been in this situation before I have always had a standard cob on hand...

I guess I need to buy another cob and leave it as is... Or better yet, I might need to buy a half dozen just in case...

    Your opinion?

It has a modern look, with the polymer lower receiver (Glock term) with the traditional Briar bowl... If it works it works, if not, someone else will have a gifted pipe

    It's funny, really,

For the past 20 years or so the smoking have been forbidden in every building, ship and vehicle where i work (military).
...Still everybody does it Not everywhere of course but you can always find a place you smoke without causing non smokers any harm. And maybe not in front of the big chiefs unless they smoke too.
So the smoking ban is sort of a who cares.

    My opinion?
Get yourself a new cob or many right away. I could send you one but the ones they sell here are made in the USA so would be no much of a souvenir.
