Thanked: 8Evening Gents,
Another question for you lads, re nicotine. I watched a video on you tube where a fella was reviewing Frog Morton Cella which I think I can get in the U.K he said it had very little or no nicotine and that it was very smooth etc, etc. My question is, are there pipe tobacco's that are low in nicotine or are they all about the same.
Still no pipe as yet, lost a couple on ebay. Looking at Mr Brogg pipes and the Peterson Tankard. Below a couple on my watch list.

Figured I'd post this here in case anyone was interested.
A friend of mine is determined to give up smoking his pipe, he's getting some dental issues and pain in his mouth.
I've been using an e-cigarette now for almost 4 months, and it's made a huge difference. Now, I pick it up once in awhile, usually during times I'd usually smoke, and have a full pulls and that's enough. Not getting the 10,000 other chemicals and especially the burning hot smoke is the big change, "harm reduction" as they say.
He was very interested in this whole e-cig thing, so I did some looking around and turns out there's an e-pipe? So I picked it up for him, got some Pipe flavoured e-liquids (they contain nicotine) and am going to give this to him tomorrow night. Told him it takes a bit of getting used to...but after a week, I had no problem.
They designed this e-pipe so that you activate the battery (in order to draw smoke(vapour) by simply drawing on the pipe, so the aesthetics are as close to "smoking" a real pipe as possible. Can't wait to hear what he has to say about it.
Here's a pic:
edited to add: Here's a quick video on how it works:

Nicotine Content varies widely. Typically Aromatics have the least, fallowed by virginias, english and burleys, in that order. Though there are exceptions to that rule. In many cases different tins will have a mix of different types and strengths. For example Pembroke is a medium english with a light aromatic casing. University flake is burley flake with a light casing. I suggest checking out tobbaccoreviews.com. They rank different blends bases of strength, in the categories of Taste, room note (how it smells to those not smoking), Nicotine content, and flavoring.
I suggest getting a cheap missouri meerschaum (a corn cob pip) for testing. No they're not the prettiest or most sophisticated but many tobaccos will leave a residual taste or ghost in a pipe. This isn't terrible if you only smoke that kind of tobacco out of your pipe, but can be unpleasant if your changing between while your testing. A strong English can leave a heavy campfire/catsup/tire taste behind that could cover or funk up a light aromatic you're intending on trying. Cobs typically don't ghost and if it does you can either dedicate it to one kind or pitch it at under $10.00 each. Not to mention that they typically smoke cool, dry and maybe even a little sweet.
And never be afraid to ask here, God knows that we're all too willing to share our opinions on things...not that I'd ever do that

Again weighing in... I don't worry about Nicotine Amount... I supplement my addiction in other ways...
Hobby pipe smoking is what I do... But I will have to agree that Aromatics seem to be the lightest of them all...
If you are a current NON tobacco user, you may find that even the lightest blends will still get you light headed...
Again, don't inhaleLife is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...

Harvested my seeds today. The first here are Havana
These are Virginia bright leaf. I don't know if they had enough time to mature but I will let them dry a bit and find out. I wanted the Havana for sure and when they were done I let these go. I had been previously topping them to keep from crossing.
Next is just a fun picture starting with a couple of wooden spoons. The black one I carved from Black Walnut and the next is from Nosewarmer using I don't know what kind of wood. He got the wood much thinner than I did.The pipe is from Nosewarmer and that lead to a question of which tobacco should I use it for. I have had the vintage syrian for a while in my cellar. The SG and the Three Star Grey I got from Nosewarmer. [Thank you Nosewarmer!] My daughter in law had a false alarm today with my future grandchild but when the time comes I want to open one of these to celebrate.
Which one do you guys vote for?????
