Thanked: 1160If you are just starting out, Cobs are good pipes.Easy to break in and always a smooth smoke. Several of us seasoned puffers are Cob smokers. I have four myself and enjoy them every bit as much as my Briars.

Thanked: 8I will take a look at the Cobs I also like the look of the Pokers that sit. Does a longer stem pipe smoke cooler that a Poker? or is more to do with pace. Sorry to ask so many questions.

Thanked: 1160I should also point out though that different tobacco blends can be smoother than others also and just in case you were wondering...Strong potent smelling tobacco does not always equate to burn either. As a general the more aromatic types of tobacco can be "burnier" as they have more sugars but again experiment.Go forth and taste the bounty young Hobbit and the bounty shall be yours !........ummm yeah.

If you are an ex cigarette smoker, my advice to you is to get pipe tobacco with at least medium strenght if not even more.
Most aromatic tobaccos seem to have a total lack of nicotine. Nice overwhelming candy aroma doesn't always equal nice taste either. Possible sign of a tongue burner.
Also no need to inhale, imho.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Currently the snow line runs only about 30 km from my home city so i guess we get the world white within few days also. Been waiting for it.
We've had hell of a rainstorm going on for over a week. Nice weather to smoke a pipe (or do anything outdoors, actually).
And now the main road from my home to bridge and mainland is cut by the flood. There's only one another road still open from here, giving us some 18 km more, but do not know for how long it will stay open.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'
