With it finally getting chilly here in Missouri and a move looming I've been neglecting my pipes, but last night I decided to forget it all and relax. So I promptly burned a couple bowls of Irish flake and Old Joe Krantz in the cob, and free hand while watching the first Hobbit movie (I just finished the book) and sipped on a couple bottles of hard cider.

Thanked: 227Stevie here's a list of tobacconists in the Midlands area.

I have no experience of any of them, but thought it might help.

I guess I'll weigh in at this point... My opinion is subjective as all others and by no means am I an expert...
So far you have received good/excellent information on pipe smoking...
First off, don't spend a lot of money getting into the "sport" of pipe smoking... As Nightblade recommended, maybe start with a cob (I would)...
They are less finicky, less expensive and easier to smoke (IMHO)... If you smoke something that you don't like and can't smoke the ghost out, toss it in the trash...
Tobacco; It's up to you... I'm an aromatic smoker for the most part, there are lots to try and LOT'S to avoid... Again as some have said, they don't usually taste as they smell... The only one close to that is Lane 1Q...
If you are a traditional tobacco smoker, try something that is Burley/Virginia/Turkish... You will be use to the flavor and aroma...
Inhaling is hard on the lungs, it's almost like slurping THICK smoke... However, if you can manage, blowing through the nose will/can help with identifying aromas and tastes...
Good luck on your venture and continue to ask questions...Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...
