Good day gentlemen. The Mrs. is out of town so I can smoke away without fear of her griping. Been rotating between Frog Morton Across the Pond with my morning coffee and MacBaren Navy Flake during the day, capped by some more Frog all night. I'll try to whip up some pics for later.

Good evening. It's been a fun/relaxing/delicious day. Tapped into the Frog Morton (smoking as I type) and the Navy Flake during the afternoon. Also did some shopping.

Apologies for the weak attempt at a light box. Just tinkering around. Crappy camera still means crappy photo - no matter the back ground.

    Pipes left to right -
    1. The Academy Award London Pipe 126 (Comoy's second apparently)
    2. GBD Speciale Standard 2515 (made in France)
    3. Cob

Very well, nice and dry. That is the biggest difference IMHO between the morta and the briar pipes. I love the textures too. I think it's worth the expense to have at least one nice morta in your collection. Chris Askwith does very nice morta pipes at reasonable prices as does Paolo Becker, although his are a bit more expensive.

Hey Eric. Hate to be a pain in the butt - however, I'll ask anyway - any info on the Comoy's second or the GBD? Sorry I don't have better pics for ID purposes - but you seemed to work quite a bit of magic with the shapes alone. I can find a little info on the Comoy's stuff (and I know it's a second - but figured maybe you or someone would have a story behind it - why "Academy Award?"), but the GBD is is bit of a mystery - other than it seems to be a middle of the line pipe for them - from a list of their lines I found here on the web. No worries is you don't have info or time. You've been busy turning out some great pipes. (Love the smooth apple and lumberman)

Anyhow - Frog Morton Across the Pond in my cob with coffee to get my day going.
