    No we didn't. Just lazy.

Well recently my daughter and her friend spent few days in Ystad Sweden. Probably after Kurt Wallander footsteps.

And just like people of Ystad who must be up to their necks on tourists so are we here too. The city is usually full of tourists on holiday season and specially now as we have this European Capital of Culture thing going on. And the medieval Hansa days. And international festival for Finnish emigrants and their descendants. And Archipelago rally for motorcycles. And various rock concerts. And so on. Usually the population of my home island almost triples on summer because so many have their summer villas here. So now everything is crowded and the roads are full of tourists who obviously have no idea where they are going.

What's the point or the story behind my whining? No point, no story. Just came to my mind as i got this beer from my daughter as a souvenir from Sweden

Sailor - you always present us with some of the most beautiful pictures. Beyond the hardware of beautiful pipes, so many here take such great photos. Makes checking this thread out all the more interesting to see on a daily basis. I swear - some of the pictures you post from the sea - I can smell the salty air and feel to rolling swell underneath my feet. PS - I love that pipe.

Been busy here pushing pipes out of the shop, not a lot of spare time to cruise the Forums...

Don't hesitate to ask questions - if I know the answer I'll always be happy to give it to you!

GBD: The 2515 is a round straight shank billiard. The Speciale Standards were made exclusively at the France factory and had a "medium dark reddish smooth" finish. Thats the only info given. Nothing really special, but it should smoke just as good as any older GBD - I have several in my collection. Many pipers avoid the French made GBD's saying the quality was poor, but I haven't found that to be true.

The Academy Award: A Comoy second. The 126 shape is a large straight shank pot.

Thanks Eric. I'm actually about to load up the GBD with some Frog Morton Across the Pond in a few. I had known that there was a definite distinction between French made and English made, but you are a wealth of information, and it is much appreciated. Think I'm going to buy one of the books on the history of pipes here one of these days. Good coffee table fodder while puffing away.

I know it's not the best picture. Trying to get a new camera soon.

    Good evening, Gentlemen.

Today we were visiting the medieval festivals in the city. Parts of the old city centre are at least from year 1300 or so and it is the perfect place for such festivals. At the small shop near the area i saw this: Beer from Belarus. WTF i thought. I've never seen such thing before. Krinitsa is the name if i remember these cyrillic alphabets correctly. Of course i had to get me one. We only live once, i thought, and man should try everything once (except line dancing). At least almost. At least perhaps maybe.
The beer was quite good. Actually very good. I've tried much worse beers in my life. Sorry i had only one bottle at the moment. Enjoyed it with my estate Sailor pipe and Three Nuns tobacco, which is an excellent, medium strenght mixture of VA, Perique and black Cavendish.

    Have a nice evening!
