I listen to everything from Pavarotti to Motorhead.

    Except bluegrass. It scares me.

I respect bluegrass ....some great musicians. I guess being born & raised in New York City...my exposure to bluegrass was nil. The only thing that pops into my head when I hear bluegrass is:

Aw yes, the famous scene from 'Deliverance' great movie however it stereotyped a lot of people/which isn't anything new with movies. The list goes on and on

As you said there are some great musicians playing Bluegrass music. Since you brought up Deliverance, here's a little 'Dueling Banjos' for all to enjoy! Steve Martin 'who played in the clip I posted' talks about an award that was given and then a performance with Steve and the recipient.

Palestrina's Missa Brevis, sung by the choir of Westminster Cathedral. Girls just can't make the same sound.

God must employ the best copyright agents because I can't find it on Youtube.

If you don't mind....can you recommend an album or 2 that could be my proper introduction to bluegrass? I'd like to give it another try...and I would certainly appreciate a recommendation from an aficianado
