About 22 years ago the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band played at our county fair, my oldest daughter aged 16 was in the front row/no seating just standing. It sure made this old dad feel good when afterward she told me that your friends were amazed to find that she knew the words to every song. NGD stayed for over 3 hours signing autographs, memorabilia or new stuff. Impressive indeed.
Fast forward to a Second marriage and about 7-8 years ago I took my two youngest kids aged 14 and 17 to see Lynyrd Skynyrd play in Spokane WA, we had great seats, row 4 just off left of center. Once again my children knew the words to every song. Skynyrd played for an hour and forty five minutes without a break, they ended the set with Sweet Home Alabama, took a Very short break and finished the show with what else but Free Bird. Both of them couldn't stop talking about the show and the music!
As Neil Young said; Keep on Rocking In the Free World. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Much of the music posted here makes me think OMG that's terrible but I refuse to call it stupid.
My wife is a kindergarten teacher with many kids having English as a second language. My daughter is a speech therapist at a school for the deaf. About half of her students can hear something muffled when the music is played very loud. When I walked into the middle of a conversation they had to show me the group that they were talking about. We had a fun time and they were laughing at me when I started following along to the videos.
The title of this thread is what are you listening to? Not my music is better than yours!

Thanked: 1Astonishingly the Berlin Philharmonic had never played all the Sibelius symphonies until Simon Rattle took over as chief conductor. The Germans, apparently, have rarely heard them. Sir Simon recently gave a series of sell-out concerts with the Berlin Phil in London in which all symphonies were played. If you have access to the BBC i-player you can still catch them.

Bit of an odd choice this evening that appeals to the game geek in me - I've been listening to the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack. It's amazing how beautiful, stirring, lavish and intricate music in games has gotten over the last 15 or so years, and I think that this soundtrack is one of the finest ever written. It really wouldn't sound out of place in a Hollywood blockbuster and I really do wish I'd written it myself.

Long day winding down with some Van. This one in particular I can listen to over and over. Beautiful stuff. Have a great night gents!
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
