Always a sad day when one learns that a favourite band has called it a day. But it has been a good run for these guys, and I'll always be grateful not only for the music but also for all the images from my hometown that they brought to me when I loved far away. Thank you Weakerthans. You'll be missed!
And I can't not include their best-known song. A song that only a Winnipegger can truly understand. A song that capture so much about the place that people love and hate. And a song that John K Samson always prefaced (when playing at home) by saying that he really does love the city...

An imitation "Retro" mono radio that I got from work. The local "classic" rock station. I must be a classic!
At work it doesn't make sense to pay me to fix a $35 radio but instead of throwing it out i brought it home to prove I could.
