Great band, great tune! Keith Moon was probably one of the best drummers ever. And then there's that Canadian guy from that one band

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Today I was blessed to spend most of the day with one or the other of what I think are two of the most beautiful songs stuck in my head. It's tough to have a bad day when that happens.

First up was Xavier Rudd. Singer, songwriter, surfer dude, dijeridoo, stompbox, and guitar player, percussionist, and one-man-band - at least he was then I believe he plays better with others these days. I first encountered him at the Winnipeg Folk Festival back in around 2004. Absolutely phenomenal performer.

And then around lunchtime I was visited by the ghost of Woody, channeled through Wilco, singing what I think may be *the* most beautiful song ever written.

Incidentally, there's another great solo version of this done by Jeff Tweedy at one of the FarmAid shows. That, too, is brilliant.

    Have a great day everyone!

And of course any discussion of absolutely amazing drummers would be remiss if these two guys weren't mentioned. Both of them freaks (back when drummers wore coat and tie

Of course Krupa and Rich have both passed away but apparently Buddy Rich was still a freak even as an old man. Wow!

My parents were both children of the Great Depression and young people in the Golden Age of the Big Band. My Mom introduced me to Big Band Music. While I'd never admit it to me friends at the time, I really dug big band music, lots of amazing music and performers in big bands.
