[QUOTE=squeezyjohn;668487]I have a couple of straight pipes by Peterson, and I love to smoke Dunhill tobaccos. They're back in the UK which is brilliant news - just bought some new Early Morning Pipe and London Mixture. Also becoming a massive fan of Rattray's Red Raparee.

I'm certainly better with pipes than I am with a straight razor![/QUOTE

Yeh me too! Especially when I try smoke my Peterson and shave at the same time. Lucky you are in the Sates. 50gm of tobacco is around $45 here in Australia.

As long as there is no headshaving involved with this type of pipe...

It's probably made in China and has lead in it...

I also enjoy my pipe smoking sessions. I went to a local tobacco shop the day I turned 18 and got an inexpensive briar. Cannot think of a better way to relax... wait, maybe str8 shaving?

A friend of mine got me a Savinelli about a year or so after and I mainly smoke that one. It is quite nice; has an alligator skin feel to it. Also has a balsa 'filter' in the stem which catches that build up in the bottom of the bowl towards the end of the smoke.

    I should post some pics.

Love the Esoterica blends. Penzance is my favorite, but also like And So To Bed. Rattray's Old Gowerie is a favorite too. Got a Nording freehand that's finished nicely with oil from my own hands (rubbing it like you would a strop) and a new Bjarne that's still being broken in. My favorite pipes currently though are my cheap one's. I've had them the longest, so they have a good cake and smoke great. Need to post some Pipe of the Day picks I guess someday.

I noticed that everyone posts their favorite blends on this thread and I thought I would share the place where i get most of my information on different blends.

TobaccoReviews.com - The largest collection of pipe tobacco reviews on the internet

this is also the place where I find new blends and new brands to try. I find that browsing by number of stars combined with number of reviews helps narrow it down to blends that I almost always enjoy.

If it wasn't for the fact the tabacco smoke isn't great for you, I would love to start pipe smoking. I know it is no where near as bad for you as cigarettes, but there is no way I could get that past the wife. Never the less, I love the look of some of the old pipes.

Nick I have been on that site a number of years and enjoy it very much. It is the best for reviews.

For fellow Penzance lovers it's still darn near impossible to get. My friend who owns a pipe shop says they still tell him it will be awhile before they ship anymore. He had two 8 oz bags stuck back but let me have them so I'm set for awhile anyway. That is my favorite tobacco if there is such a thing:-)
I saw an ebay auction asking $79 staring bid for an 8oz bag!!!!
