Thanked: 0Pipe smoking straight Razor users
As a bit of fun while I am laid up, I was wondering how many straight razor users smoke a pipe, if so what pipes and brands are favorite?
Mine is Mellow Mack tobacco in any of my Petersons!
Cheers

I enjoy my pipe frequently. I have a few, but none are anything special. my main is an italian second i picked up at my local shop. Looking forward to buying a new L.J. Peretti soon, once ,y bank account fills back up! lol.
Tobacco, i like most any well blended tobacco, preferably aromatic, spicy, and bold, although a full bodied, sweet after dinner smoke is quite nice on occasion. I buy tobacco from L.J. Peretti in Boston....recently, i've been looking into Owl Shop in Worcester.
How many other pipe smokers do we have on these forums?

this is really a topic for the "finer things in life" section of the forums, but i don't know how threads get moved so I'll just reply here.
Personaly, I always liked a nice black cavendish usualy in the evening. I have tried a virginia blend and for some reason it made me a bit "sneezeish" (if thats a real word). I was, however able to take the can of laurel heights and mix it with stockeby's black cavendish at a 2 to 1 ratio and come up my a very nice "homemade" blend. I also like some of cornell & diel's blends and the one blend I got from two friends was rather nice.
as far as pipes go I have 3 bargin basket pipes, one of the ever popular DR grabaw pipes, a hardcastle, a small meerschum pipe, and five missouri meeschum corn cob pipes that I smoke more than any thing else. It's hard to beat a good cob.

My favorite pipes are, no doubt, considered trash by many. I've not seen one in the 'pipe of the day' thread or even seen them mentioned. In fact they are not all that attractive, but they are effective.
They also have a spot in my memory as I can recall my father having one.
What is this pipe? The Falcon. To make it even more old school, I often smoke Velvet in them.
In addition I have several Dunhill and Peterson pipes I enjoy, and partake of various tobacco blends that include Perique and Latakia.

I mainly smoke GL Pease Robusto, Blackpoint and Gawith & Hoggarth Rum Flake. Some other blends too. Lot of pipes from various makers that I've accumulated over the past thirty years.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I've been thinking about getting a Flacon, my uncle use to smoke one quite often...
By far my "COBS" are most used... No worries with them... My briars on the other hand, I must have the right place and time... They are my pride and joy...
All of, or all but one are large and bulky, so I must sit and have a place to sit them...
My pipe brands are Peterson, Dr. Grabow, Scottish Clays, Hand made cutoms from TRG and of course MM Cobs.
Tobacco's on the other hand vary from Boswell's Northwoods to Captain Black White to PS Lux Bullseye Flake to Lane 1Q...
Plus I have several Meer's that I have collected over the years...
