    Cool

I thought it was just me. My wife says that i'm rude to them. But if I say I don't need help, it means just that. I told the guy at the furniture store that I don't need help and I'm just looking, he insisted on knowing the color of my bedroom. I wanted to tell him it's none of his "F"ing business!! But the wife gave me "the look" hehe. He got off easy, I just turned my back on him.

    Hello Basil,

I would recommend you start out with the Pilot Varsity. It is a highly regarded disposable pen that is available at your local office supply stores (Staples, Office Depot, Office Max). Use them for a while to see if you like them over the long haul. If you do, I can recommend the following three fountain pens:

    Parker 51 aerometric (vintage)
    Namiki Vanishing Point
    Lamy 2000

As for bottled ink, my favorites are:

Namiki Blue (also comes in black)
Aurora Blue (also comes in black)

Also, please check out the following site:

    Fountain Pen Network

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hey DwarvenChef...
Check out the Friday entry on Ink Nouveau, which is Goulet Pens blog. Link

Buy a large bottle of Noodlers and get a free pen. Pretty good deal, if you ask me.

    Too Funny

I just bumped into their YouTube videos and was just on their blog and site Talk about small world

I'm getting massive ink envy... at myself for not having more ink... I'm in so much trouble...

I'm looking for a good burgandy color for recipe notes. Than got side tracked by a review he did on the Diamine Pumpkin... I'm a sucker for orange and browns... Oh boy...

Thanks for that. Now I have a bottle of Heart of Darkness, Manjiro Nakahama Whaleman's Sepia and Black Swan in Australian Roses on the way. and a Sailor pen. And a Sailor converter... and a Jinhao pen... oh boy. My current pen is a Parker Vector that skips like crazy.

I've been using Iroshizuku Yama Budo. It's a beautiful burgundy color, flows and shades beautifully and comes in a great bottle. The bad news is that it is the Castle Forbes of ink, in terms of cost.

I think that Goulet sells small samples of various inks so you can try a few before you buy.

But you do want a fine pen to write those checks with.

One thing at a time... Just thinking that I had to wait almost
18 years to shave the first time. Now would you wait 18 years
    for anything today.

But it was Google that found instructions for the making. So modern life has some benefits.

Any small slim bladed pocketknife would have done the job. They look very toy-like and usually come with a long blade and a short blade. You can get them new in most large knife chains (maybe even Wal-mart) and you can find them in most antique stores.
I would think your sorted with that now though.
