it shoots great actually. as far as it getting away from the meat hooks eaven though glock calls it a subcompact I doubt any .45 is going to be all that sub or compact. the double stack magazine gives it a nice beefy handle and its not really that much smaller than my firestorm 1911 government. although lighter and slightly shorter in barrel and grip its actually wider than my 1911.

I can (theoretically) legally own a double or single barrel shotgun, a rifle or a handgun. IIRC shooting ranges can also own various assault weapons. Individuals can't. Citizens also can't get CCW licenses except for very rare very specific exceptions.
All firearms now need a license, whereas in the past you just needed to register them. Before you get a license, you have to pass theoretical and practical tests, a psych evaluation and have a clean criminal record. So far, I agree with it. contrary to Americans, I don't see it as a de-facto right to own a gun. I think one should be mentally stable (at least at that point in time) as well as prove that you can treat the damn thing safely.
What I don't agree with is that you have to annually re-apply for the license and cough up the money for that. You also have to be a member of a shooting range or hunting org, and you have to have hunted / went to the range at least 5 times per year. First of all that is annoying, and it also costs a lot of money. Sometimes (like when you just bought a house) that can be a pain.
We also don't have castle doctrine, and are not allowed to use deadly force to protect our property. We are only allowed to use deadly force to defend our lives. So if a burglar enters my house and does not threatens with physical violence AND a weapon, all I can do is ask him to please go away, and perhaps try to take back my stuff without laying hands on him.
Only if he approaches us (like coming up the stairs at night) do I have a case for preemptive violence, because then I can legally hold a reasonable assumption that said person is intending physical harm.

Interestingly, and again in GA, we could defend property up to the point where someone is actually in our house. At that point, we need to prove that we escalated force using deadly force as a last recourse including the fact that we couldn't get away. Also, we need to show that we felt our lives to be in mortal danger. It is less legal hassle to shoot someone when they are on your front lawn rather than in your house stealing your TV.
For this reason, the first round in my shotgun is a less lethal bean-bag round. That way I could show that I escalated force. At least until the ballistics show that the second round full of buck shot hit the suspect at about the same time.
Sorry to Hi-jack:
Now back to those sweet AR pics!

No sir, both are .224", I have some military stuff and a lot of my own loads and they are the same diameter...I checked.
The reason a bullet "wobbles" is due to having too slow of a twist rate for a particular bullet. It's called "key-holing". Most rifles can handle a 62gr bullet before loosing accuracy.
Twist rate info:
Barrel Twist Rate 1:14" 1:12" 1:9" 1:8" 1:7" or 1:6.5"
Max Bullet Weight 55gr FB 65gr FB 73gr BT 80gr BT 90gr BT VLD
Also, if you have a Rock River or Armalite AR, you can safely shoot both cartridges as they are designed to be used by our Military or Police off the shelf. They are the only two mfg's that I know of that were designed to shoot either or both rounds. Of course you would have to change some internals and the bolt if you were to need 3-shot or full auto.
Hope this helps to clarify things...

Newb to the forum but I'm an avid AR fan! My iPhone 4 is even pimped out with a Magpul case! Currently I have a S&W M&P 15X with a few gizmos attached; nothing special but it is a nice weapon! Thanks for the pics!
