Anyone (Nelson) know anything about this movement?
    Movement
25 Jewel ETA Caliber 2824-2 Swiss automatic, 3-hand Swiss automatic with date, 40-hour power reserve, +/- 5 seconds accuracy

LIV is using it in a diver I’m eyeing.
Finally making things closer to 41mm. So I was thinking about..
    Thanks

It's a very common workhorse Swiss Mvmt. About as solid as they come. ETA was acquired by The Swatch Group a few years ago and they pretty much supply Swatch Group Watches Like Omega. These days Stelita makes a clone of the ETA's with one additional jewel. It's of equal quality.

Either way they run within 10 seconds a day or better and many are chronometer certified.

    Thanks kindly for the info.
Still on the fence about the styling, but at least it’s a reliable movement.

    I have quick question.

I have a recent Bulova, I need a new battery for it so I took the old one out, wrote down the type and put the battery on the counter so i could take it with me.

I have lost the old battery, the number i wrote down was sr612sw.I cant't help wondering if I wrote it backwards because most of the time the batteriy comes up as sr621sw when I search.

However, it looks like both the sr621sw and the sr612sw take the same size 364.

Does anyone here know if that's correct.

The watch gives no indication of the battery size on it and the paperwork that came with it just say's go to an authorized dealer.

I am going to order just one 364 to see if it fits, if it does I will order a couple more for future use. Actually I'm on a missionn now to get a couple for each of my watches (6 Bulova's and a couple of Seiko's).

There are a zillion watch batteries. Why not just call up Bulova and ask them? Worse comes to worse just take it in and get it replaced. Here in the states they charge around twenty bucks to change most batteries.

I took a chance and bought the 364.

It fit perfectly and my watch is working again

I have made sure to make a note of that battery size for next time.

The 364 is a common watch battery but you always want to check to make sure because replacing a battery by serendipity and it physically fitting and electrically fitting are two different things.

If the current is slightly off the watch will run erratically. Past a certain point the movmt can be damaged.

    Just something to think about.

$4,000 cash for it? If he still has the box and papers, sheesh, even if he doesn't, sounds like it would be worth more like $30-$40,000 - those military Rolex watches, with heavily faded dials that have seen service usually sell for BIGLY money....
