For the last few days, I've been wearing my, STEINHART Ocean 39 GMT premium 500 Ceramic.

The 30mm Omega movements are still a most satisfying way to do simple manual winding watches. This '62 Seamaster 30 sports the 30mm Omega 286 movement. Been wearing it since yesterday.

I used to watch Shopnbc when baldy and his Invicta sidekick hawked their watches. That's how I got the Speedway and Swiss Diver. I remember their jewel encrusted pieces but I don'trecall any sold gold pieces.

So I guess you got me. I'll flog myself with a cordovan watch strop. Is 10 lashes enough?
Yeah, I'll let you off the hook, being as I made you the expert in the first place.
Funny thing about Invicta, back then they were looking for distributors, and I called the 800 number and got a guy in the warehouse who sent me any thing I wanted as long as I sent the checks to his address, I sold as many gold loans as Invicta did, 2 grand apiece. This went on for awhile until he got bagged. It was fun while it lasted. Here's a couple I kept for myself Name: 20220604_004251.jpg

Hmm...something mighty strange. What is the size of those watches by diameter not counting the crown? Invicta (the Israeli owners) started the outfit back up in the 1990s and the style of those watches looks nothing like their offerings then or now. It looks more like a watch from the 1930s or 40s. If the diameter is around 30mm or so it's vintage. If it's more like 40 or more then it's modern but very strange anyway.

    I'm just curious.

    It's small, about 37-38 mm

The Sunday-go-to-meeting choice today. A late 1940s Longines with 27M movement in its 18kt rose gold case.

Older photo of the Longines, not taken today.

Yea, very strange indeed. I've never seen any Invicta Watch much less than 44mm. I wonder if they got those cases elsewhere and got a mvmt to put into it.

Decided to learn to build my own watch, joined the DIY Watch Club, going to build my own watch. Should be fun, also ordered a much better kit of tools (Amazon $12.00 only goes so far lol), been going through some of the tutorials. Once done, think I'll try modding some watches, never to late for a new hobby.

    Here are the Watch Specs:

Watch Case: DWC Expedition series 38mm 316L stainless steel case (Sapphire Crystal) - 10ATM
Case Back: Exhibition case back (Mineral Crystal)
Movement Holder: Movement holder for TMI NH Series
    Watch Crown:
Standard expedition watch crown with logo (Stem pre-assembled for TMI NH Series)
Watch dial: DWC D02 Sapphire Luminous Dial (TMI NH Series)
Hands: Diver Hands with BGW9 Lume (TMI NH Series)
Movement: TMI NH72 (Gun Silver) by Seiko
Strap: DIY Watch Club FKM Rubber Watch Band - Black (20mm)

This is what it should look like when done, lol, will be very cool, someone asks what it is? I can say I built it myself!
