Thanked: 0An up-scale bar near where I used to live had some Absenthe and I tried it there, but was not taken with the taste. I prefer Pernod instead.

Thanked: 14I was at our Costco last week and snapped a pic of the "Absente" they offered--blue and white box, large VanGogh picture, comes with a spoon, 750ml... only 37.99... (I don't know how to easily transfer pic from dumb phone to here--oh well.) This Absente had an added colorant, so I will pass, but still a good deal IMO.

I'm working on a bottle of Lucid right now, which I like a lot, from my limited exposure to absinthe. I really want to try Vieux Carre, especially since it's local.

Thanked: 2If any one is near Boulder CO there is a bar there that stocks around 10 to 15 different kind's of absinthe. It is a little pricy to go and make a night out of but it is a great way to sample the many different types and find one that u like.

Now there is a tonic I had trouble enjoying. The only way I could enjoy it was by making a stop light, 1 part cranberry juice, 1 part orange juice and 1 part absinthe all in a shot glass.
Here is the bottle I purchased several years ago.
