I am starting to get used to it and am beginning to like it...but afraid to. The trigger is really needing some work & work means $...something that I don't ahve a lot of that isn't accounted for. Standing offhand my best group was about 6". Not bad, but same situation iwth my 45 would have been sub 4". Heck, it's just starting to get broken in though...

I asked and they said Dobermans, Pits, German Shepherds, Malinois, Husky, English Bull, and Bull Terriers are considered "dangerous" to them. I guess I'll just have to settle with my M4 and 1911. To be honest I think 3 ROTC guys with M4's and various handguns would be more dangerous to any intruders than the dog but they can have it their way.
unfortunately, Dolbies range about 75 lb,so their over the weight limit anyway, but if looked up on dog bite statistics that have been kept for years, there around number 16 on the list. However it's all in the perception,a Schnauzer makes a good guard dog and comes in under your weight limit and are used as such all the time in Europe, and nobody will know if you don't tell them. Of course this all goes with the understanding that ANY dog is capable of biting and should be trained and socialized, then you have that extra layer of protection and a good friend. And just a quick aside for Devilpup, yes your well prepared....but have you ever seen a well trained puppie in action? Its a sight to behold..thats for sure.

    Default THE REASON WE CARRY

I just thought this would be the right thread to share this with all
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5ut6yPrObw
something I never heard of but very important that we all know this happened. Hope you feel the same. this is the intro my friend sent with it
This is the reason why the framers of our Constitution wisely added The Second Amendment. The Second Amendment is there so Americans can protect themselves from the tyranny and oppression of our OWN government if they try to take more power from the People that they are allowed.
The following is a true story of what happened in Athens Tennessee toward the end of WWII, when the government and officers of the law decided to do just that.
The lesson here is to never give up (any) of your Constitutional rights, especially your right to bear arms. History has shown time and time again that a disarmed populace will turn a Democratic Society into a Dictatorship overnight.

I completely agree. The Second Amendment has nothing at all to do with hunting as politicians are always trying to claim.

    It's about preventing Tyranny.

It's also the reason Yamamoto never considered invading the US.

From what I seen they dont enforce the size limit, the neighbor had a couple bloodhounds that looked about like they weighed as much as I do. Yes I had the chance to see my uncle work with the Army's MP dogs, its amazing to see not only what they do but also what they can be taught to do.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

The size limit is for AKC show dogs, which is what the Comet is, however I buy the puppie with feet like pancakes in order to get a dog thats for going-not for showing. Really though thats the way I get them that big, there are "breeders" who have mixed in some Great Dane, and sell them as super dobies and other such names, but in the end find a REAL breeder who knows what there doing and look for the biggest feet, thats what I've always done and I've gotten two over 38 inches at the sholder and over the 100llb mark. As for when they work- Holy cow !! When I was training them about thirty years ago we had to line the protection suits with sheet metal so as not to get bitten, and I've seen them and Shepards actually snap steel tie-off cables, when there in a frenzy...Yikes!

thats funny you guys mention dogs I have a german shepard /lab mix and she wouldent hurt any one of my family memebers she lets my lttle sister climb on her and pull her ears and she wont even growl but if someone else tries to get into my room while im in bed she will happly get out of bed (she sleeps with me) and meet them at my door with teeth showing. i once had a friend who tried to come in to wake me to to see if i wanted to go out later that day and needless to say she dident get more than 1 in in my room before she was escorted to the door. but this dog is as lovable as can by she just has a lovable /would rather kill you switch which as long as she continues to never show teeth af family its ok.
