Thanked: 94I open carry far more than conceal. Just seems more honest to me. To each his own I do both, but 9 out of 10 its open

I like the option of open carry. I personally like the advantage of ccw but its nice to know the should my shirt ride up or print or an owb holster reveal the tip of the muzzle when I bend over I'm not able to be jailed for brandishing a firearm. It also is more comfortable when just around the house.

I personally carry concealed most of the time for a variety of reasons. Some people are very uncomfortable around guns and when out in public I don't want to cause any issues. I also don't want to be challenged solely for carrying.
I obviously can't speak for everyone in AZ but overall we have just a relaxed attitude about guns that it is just accepted and not a big deal. I think a lot of the mentality carries over from the old west attitude. Although AZ has lost most if its old west roots some things have remained, guns are just one of those accepted things. We dont have a problem with them either, law abiding citizens handle firearms responsibly here.

Thanked: 1The idea of open versus concealed is pretty interesting. I personally conceal always when I'm in public. And my conceal is a Colt Combat Elite in 45 ACP. Interestingly, around here when I very rarely see someone open carrying, I always find it odd. I carry to protect myself and my loved ones as I'm sure everyone does, open or concealed. I just tend to think you become more of a target immediately if someone knows your carrying. I like the idea of nobody knowing I am, so they don't see it coming so-to-speak if I need it. Then again the idea of prevention is also intriguing, someone might be less apt to try harming someone who open carries because they know full well the results of that approach. Very interesting though.

I carry a ruger sr9c most of the time. I just installed. Trigger kit for a 3.5 pound pull and a shorter travel. When I have to make sure it is concealed well I use my minator Iwb holster which is nice and I don't have to worry much about showing it at all. If I am not doing anything that let's me wear whatever I use my serpa 2 holster.
Anytime I have to wear a jacket I wear my 1911. And sometime I wear my 1911 on my leg holster where I triggered up a zipper above my cargo pocket.

Thanked: 94I totally get where you are comming from on this, but I have not had any issues other than being asked to sit on the other side of the dinner table because the people beside me were nervous. The thought of being a target because I am advertising my gun vs. concealing so no one knows, to me at least is kind of like thinking that because I am big people will go after me first because they think the little guy cant defend themselves (dont know if that makes sense to you, sometimes thoughts become hard to describe lol). I just figure "F" it. If your better prove it, if not well then leave me and my family alone.
