Thanked: 1I absolutely agree with you, I will not even try to argue with the points you made, I mean hey, you are at the ready whether it is open or concealed. I suppose my viewpoint is directly related to what you said about some people being nervous, my thought process follows that if they don't know I have it, they have nothing to be nervous about, although I am sure it is quickly forgotten once conversation picks up. But the end result sir is that an armed society is a polite society. There are definitely times that I should just open carry because sometimes when concealing, you are always trying to figure a way to dress around the gun. Anywho, keep up the good fight though!

Thanked: 94Your in PA? I grew up in Chippewa on the PA/Ohio border. Guns were so normal there at 15+ I used to walk around the roads with a shotgun and no one batted an eye! I was always squirrel/turkey hunting. Out here though in AZ people are very used to open carry. It actually shocked me and my company more when the waiter said that to us. He then said afterwards he always felt safer when he saw his tables were armed. Go figure

Thanked: 1Ha! thats awesome. I've gotta say, gun owners are definitely like minded people and I would assume based on those I talk to (like-minded of course) that there is quite the gun community here in NEPA. I will be honest though, I am avid about my guns and carry pretty regularly, and I will say this, in my travels, I think I have only seen 2 people open carry, I know that is shocking because the ranges around here and other areas to shoot are always packed. I suppose that as a gun guy and amatuer gunsmith over here (just finished building my first 1911), it was only a matter of time before I came over to straight razor shaving.

Thanked: 10I have a VA CCW. I carry a Ruger LC9 in a Crossbreed holster. I cant carry all the time b/c i go to school and you cant carry a gun on campus. You figure with all the wack jobs out there they would let up on that.

I CCW in Oklahoma. We recently passed the open carry law but when I do carry, it is concealed. I like the open carry though. That way if I am wearing a T-Shirt and someone sees the bottom of the holster, I can't catch a bunch of grief.
Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere.

Exactly, it's only illegal if you get caught. Like most college & university campuses, the U of A here in Tucson is a "Weapons Free" zone, but take a closer look and you'll notice alot of guys have the unmistakable clip of a knife hanging on their pocket...I wouldn't be surprised if a few are carring the Ruger LCP, LC9, or some other small conceal carry purpose gun in their baggy pant/shorts.

Thanked: 1936Just picked up a S&W 640 .357, now to find some extra ammo for it. Got lucky and found 150 rounds, but I "need" about 10x that amount...
