Thread: How many people CCW here?

Right, so this would be my first post in this thread
While Norwegian law prohibits me ever carrying anything on my body, concealed or otherwise, it kinda feels right to post this.
Having read this thread since its inception I kinda missed my old shooting club and going down to shoot a few rounds every now and then.
I've spent time in our chatroom picking Gary's brain a bit on guns.
He and I both share a liking of Heckler and Koch.
So on Wednesday I ordered a H&K 45.
Initially I was set on a 9mm, but Gary asked me the following question;
Are you just gonna shoot paper?
That got me thinking, and I took his advice and went with the .45.
Now, our laws being what they are, I will have to be a member of my club for at least 6 months before I can take my pistol back home.
My club, however, can store it for me while that period of time elapses, so in just two weeks time, I should have my new pistol delivered at the club and I can start practicing my very lackluster skills of hitting anything once again
Anyways, I just felt like sharing..Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

H&K is a time tested weapon, a good choice.
Question; If you purchase a second handgun after you take the first one home, do you have to keep it at the club too or is it a one time requirement?

No, I can bring the second one home pretty much straight away.
Given I get a permit to own a second hand gun
The six month waiting period is just 'cause I am currently not an active shootist.
Had I kept my membership in the shooting club active, I could have brought it straight homeLast edited by Birnando; 12-10-2013 at 06:27 AM.

The case is an aluminum laptop case... The foam i got from Sears... Toolbox craftsman foam... And the cuts i did with an x-acto knife... U can use a single sided razor blade or a very sharp knife! X-acto is best for corners... Also if u have a heat gun... Here is a little trick we use in the USAF... Take vise grips and grab the razor... Heat up with heat gun and it will cut the foam like butter!

Has anyone ever used the Versa carry holster. Or clip rather. Just wondering if anyone had any info about it on comfort and how it rides.

I carry a Glock 19 or sig 229 both in 9. loaded with +P hollow point. in my front pocket I keep a 25 and extra clip always. each to his own on this subject but I believe a person show only carry what he or she can handle in a combat situation. and always train for up close and personal because if an attack happens and you have to defend your self it will mostly be up close and personal.

I've used it with a variety of compact 40's, recently a M&P 40C. It is surprisingly comfortable for appendix or 4 o'clock carry BUT.. it must be removed to "reholster" the piece. This makes practicing the draw/assume firing position move so awkward that I gave it up. I believe that the draw must be practiced from every possible position until it becomes completely automatic so I put the versacarry away. It might be just the thing, however, for someone who is primarily concerned with comfort and concealment.
