No flinter yet but planning on putting one together in the spring for next years muzzleloader season here in MO. SO till then I'm using my lyman trade .54 percussion. Good luck with the CVA.

If I'm shavn with a straight, shootn a longbow , and perkn my coffee , and chasing fur ,you can bet I ain't shootn a center fire Scoped rifle. And an in-line black powder gun is just plain cheatn.. I pour my black powder down the barrel and ram a 45 cal patched round ball , put some 4x powder in the pan and let the flint and steel do the rest, old school... But hey Deerhunter ...you already knew that . And I put 3x in the pan on the damp days ( it doesn't absorb as much moisture as 4x ) for better ignition.

Been studying a few books to figure out what my first flinter will be. I'm torn between going authentic and saying the heck with it and make what I want I have every plan to retire in Alaska and with that I need a thumper so to that end I want a .62 flinter halfstock based off a Hawken design. The Authentic part of me want to do a 36 small game rifle... and every time I get the books out my wife hides my wallet and any spare change laying about

Thanked: 88Nice. Double set triggers; good stuff. I love the late season. I lost my flinter in a divorce a few years ago and haven't bought a new one yet. I've been more interested in goose lately. You should PM me your general area of PA; If you're not too far maybe we could meet up for a grouse or rabbit hunt or something.
