Pomades

Im a big Pomade fan, bit like shaving soaps really i always have a few variety's about and use the one i fancy that day. I like how once its in it stays in, and you can restyle all day. Not like these modern creams and gels that as soon as you touch your hair it disappears.

Sweet Georgia brown (red) is my favourite and most used, i do love the shine it gives. My favourite for the sent is Black and White i do really like the coconut sent. I also use Murrays Superior Pomade does that stuff hold!

Any other pomade users about ? im particularly interested in Morgans pomade if anybody has used it, im just thinking about ordering some now.

I have never used Pomade, but just wanted to say thanks for bringing to mind both O Brother Where art Thou and Hamish Macbeth.

I've used Layrite almost everyday for years. Love the stuff...smells nice and you can restyle by spraying it a bit...but if you want to wash it out, it's water based so comes right out without using paint stripper...lol.

Murrays here. The stuff does hold, and stays in your hair for daaaays. Have used it straight, and in combination (for different effects) with other products such as Brylcreem or Lucky Tiger 3 Purpose Hair Tonic. Heard about the "Sweet Georgia Brown" products, just have never gotten around to trying any.

Thanks for answering, glad to see we have some pomade users.Ive not ever tried Layrite Catrentshaving the ability to wash it out easily has always put me off, dont know why really just think in my head it would not feel like a real pomade. Maybe i should try it! Honedright as good as the Murrays is Sweet Georgia Brown is better , its just feels so nice in your hair and goes in so much easier to. They do a another blue version that has a stronger hold i think, but ive never tried it.Another thing is i like the tins they come in they brighten up my bathroom cabinet, along with everything else on there lol.Still after a Morgans user if theres any about , i want to as k a question about it.

Black and White is good stuff, expensive compared to what it was a few years back over here though. I mostly use Dax wax now instead, it's cheap and works a treat for hair as well as pugilistic moustaches. I have a glass jar of Yardley English lavender brilliantine(green for some reason), I like the smell but find it a bit too thin and greasy in use. Shame as it's a nice looking/smelling oldschool product I'd love to use.

Not big on pomades my self but if your looking for old school hair products Groom and Clean is good stuff

Although my spud is hairless, I've often used pomades on my unruly lip whiskers. DAX and Murray are both good, however for the seriously long stash with hugified bars, a stiffer (purpose built) stash wax is required (i.e. Firehouse Wacky Tacky or Oregon Wild Hair.
