So we are over boots now then? I am still on Melbourne time, or my sleep pattern is non existent. My boot broke leaving Melbourne airport, half the sole fell off, I don't think it liked the rain and the cold. I got it mended today. It cost $12.
I have been thinking of using 2 different polishes alternately on my dark brown work boots, just for something to do, I am quite.good at polishing, was going to use oxblood (which I can't find anywhere) and dark tan. Carl suggested dark tan and black, now I am carling (new word for being indecisive) over it. Can't get any more polish for a week or so anyway. Will have to just use dark tan for now.

Carling? Excellent term. It replaces the old word 'mulling', which I'm sure Carl has done plenty of. Oxblood? You're in Stralia now mate, you'll be lucky if you can find brown!
Good job on the repair. Cost $100 over here for a resole.

Carl had to go to bed early, I think the bouldering wore the old feller out.

Well being the capitol of Australia I would expect things to be pricey. :-) ( I know its Melbourne really)
Out west we just glue her on and she'll be right mate.

Alright, time for me to google this term 'bouldering'. I have no idea what it is, or why he would spend so much time doing it.

Rock climbing! Well, if only I'd known, I would have been down there with Carl all along. Having a death wish I'm always up for those sorts of things.

I think carling is more like public mulling, mulling being more of a solitary activity that you might carry out in an armchair by an open fire, with a glass of port or real ale. I miss proper real ale, fires and armchairs. I think you would also need to be wearing corduroy trousers, and a woolen jumper. Why do I think of mulling as an activity for winter evenings?

No Carl was very specific bouldering is a few technical moves, either vertically or while traversing. Rock climbing is well climbing rocks, but apparently there is a difference.
