I am scarred enough emotionally as is without having someone like you shouting at me all day, besides like Shiney laces.

So basically you're spit polishing. I stripped some of the polish off mine the other day; using Eucalyptus oil. I did too much and took all the base off, so had to apply a lot more to the toes and then it needed to be rubbed in. I use cotton wool balls. In the army it was the yellow polishing cloth to rub the polish in first (tiny circles as you say) and then cotton balls later; but these days I prefer just cotton balls. I use a spray bottle to spray on the water; I use a LOT of water. I don't buff after spit polishing if I want a really nice shine; I use my breath 9i.e. I breath on the boots to create a tiny bit of moisture and then rub that off with the dry cotton balls 9no polish, small circles). Everyone has different opinions about spit polishing.

Came across this blogg the other day; this guy's out of control:

Sunshine, I was a professional shouter at people in an earlier life. I can do it very well. You have to bang the starched rim of your slouch hat against their forehead as you shout for added effect.

Sadly my kids get the drill sergeant treatment from me when they misbehave. If they're ever go into the services, they're just going to laugh in the faces of RSM's.

Carl, Yeah, I didn't open the link, but think I have seen it before, is he the 4 hour polish man?
I think that he also wears very very expensive shoes.
Is that the second eucalyptusing that you put your boots through?
Next time you strip them back it might be worth giving the leather a feed, just so you don't have to clean the polish off later to do it. Maybe it won't matter, you seem to be hell bent on keeping kiwi in business regardless.
I rebuff because it is quite dusty at work, what with it being semi out doors in the pilbara.

I just picked up a pair of alden 403 Indy boots.

Been trying to find them for a while. Finally a store had them in my size. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375803315.632773.jpg

Righty ho, it is the guy I thought, yes his regime is pretty full on.
I have to say that I don't really like most of the shoes there.
The shoes in the polishing demo are kind of nice, if they were a boot version, without the decoration it would be pretty much what I want. I like your boots by the way Carl, they would be exactly or as close to as made no difference, if they had eyelets all the way up.
Mick might know the answer to this, could the lace hooks be removed and eyelets installed?

Yes, but the job quality wouldn't be there if it was a home done job. And paying a boot maker (as opposed to a Cobbler who only repairs, somewhat dubiously in the case of Mister Minit, boots) wouldn't be worth the cost.
