At last. Here they are: my work boots.
Probably not the most aesthetic nor fashionable there is but we've been together for more than 10 years.
It's been long gone since they were really waterproof. Soles been cracked for few times so i had to glue them back again.
There were times that i've thought about asking new pair of these, but nowadays they do not issue these kind of boots any more, only some heavy models with steel toes and all and i rather fancy these. They are very lightweight. 6 years until retirement so i probably try to stick with these old faithfuls until that day. Then i'll probably burn them. Of course i have some better shoes for civil life.

Thanked: 485An update on the boots:
I received the Barker 'Kebroyd' boots last night. They were packaged up really well, with the box wrapped in old fashioned brown paper. On opening the very nice and substantial shoe box I found that each boot came in its own red cloth bag. Also, a red polishing cloth a free shoe horn and free polish were included.
The boots were very substantial, very solid and quite heavy. They are just a TAD larger than the others I have. The others are a size 42 and these are an 8; which is supposed to be the same as a 42. they aren't TOO big, but I wouldn't want them any bigger. I guess I can always wear too pairs of socks, but at this stage it's not needed.
The stitching on the boots is perfect. The 'Dianite' sole is stitched on really well, and I'm unsure if the heel and part of the sole is stacked leather, it looks like it is. The boots are lined inside in really soft leather, and there's even a little label stitched to the inside of each boot with a a serial number on it; it's not often (ever?0 you see a boot with a serial number on it.
The leather is a little 'grainy' with a nice pattern, but the toe caps have been smoothed a little.
I polished them with the included polish and they didn't seem to really take a shine at all. I then used some of my darker tan on the toe caps, rubbing it in with a cotton wool ball and using some water (spit polishing essentially) and then also on top of that some neutral polish. The toe caps came up really nicely, so that the wife said "Why do you always have to make the toes really shiny?"
I'm very happy with this purchase, these were very expensive for me, about $330 but it seems well worth it.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Nice looking boots Carl. Here is what I use to keep my toes shiny. Although many guys rub them after a few minutes of set time to make them dull.
