I decided to concentrate on getting the grind right and not waste time sanding off the heat treat scale. I actually quite like the rustic look.

It's honed up to 12k, stopped on chromium oxide and finished on plain leather.

I really like the look of this. Clean an polished is nice, but this speaks volumes to me! Well done on the grind.

I've been wanting to start knife making for a while. Made one decent flat ground drop point fixed blade two years ago with a 4 inch belt sander in my garage and it turned out a workable blade but rough. I think i have the skill and patients to be a good knife maker.
Recently joined SRP and and yet to buy my first razor but i would love to eventually start doing this. Thumbs up for the thread! I know who to contact for advice now!
