One I'm working on, second attempt
I've been away a looooong time. I've been making knives instead of playing with razors, but I decided I'd try it again now that I upgraded to a Wilmont Grinders TAG101 from my Craftsman 2x42.
My first razor was O1 and a full wedge and absolutely un-honeable, but it lead me to knife making, so I am thankful I at least tried. It was made with an angle grinder and files.
This is 1/4" A2. It's rough ground right now, I'll thin it out one it comes back from heat treat. I ground it on a 2" wheel, because that's all I have. If someone has a 5" to 10" wheel they would like to get rid of, please let me know.
Right now it's looking like about a 7/8 size, which I find personally about perfect. It's about a quarter hollow. Hopefully I can get it done soon and try shaving with a razor that is.......a bit better grind than the first! Lol

Looks like a great shaving blade. Like the shoulderless flow.
What kind of scales will you use?If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Thanked: 170Nice clean job of grinding. Well done. You might consider leaving a tad more steel at the spine next time. Please post pictures after you finish grind and get scales done.

Thanks guys. I'm not sure what kind of scales I'll use. Maybe g10. I have a lot of it from knifemaking.

Looks very good so far, just a personal thing not in anyway a criticism I would like to see the heel a little more rounded off just think it would give it a better overall look. :-)

What's the reason for choosing A2?
