Thread: I got a power hammer!!!

I have a good relationship with my neighbors. If you are good with your neighbors, they put up with a whole lot as long as you don't push it. I always keep my forging limited to Saturdays most of the time, and even then just daytime. Saturdays are the traditional days here in Belgium when people mow their lawn, cut trees, use angle grinders outside etc.

Even with a power hammer, there is only so much forging you can do in a sensible manner because you still need to do all the time consuming grinding, polishing, scales, etc..

This is great. Looking forward to seeing what you're able to produce!

After I get it home, I will ask the contractor to use his crane to lift it to the backyard. And then I'll pay a professional moving company to move it onto the stand I have to make first. It'll cost a couple of hondos but it beats trying to do it myself. Because I have no idea how to otherwise move a 700 pound hammer over a grass lawn and lift it onto a 3 foot stand.

A great hammer, now all the work will go faster.

The use of professional help is the safest and best answer! In the long run often the cheapest as you usually may schedule them for your timing, not hoping to have the ability/ availability of volunteers to arrive when needed.

It arrived, and the contractor used his crane to hoist it to the back yard and from there we used a pallet transporter. Btw it is 3 phase 400V not 220 single phase.
