Most excellent! That is a pretty serious crane that was used. I was thinking of the small hydraulic cranes that we see around here often. Now you get to learn the fine details of another aspect and up your game one more notch. I am looking forward to seeing the results.

I suspect that it's because they decided to move their house three feet to the left.

The ram is only 32 pounds. 700 is the total machine.

As to the crane: those are fairly typical for building contractors. They are convenient to move as well. When they remove the counterweights, the arm drops. When all the weights are gone, they fold the entire thing in half. It has wheels at the base. When it is folded in and the support struts are retracted, they keel it over and hitch it like a normal trailer.

You have to keep in mind that Belgium is brick and mortar country. Our houses are all brick and mortar, and the floors between levels are all reinfoced concrete slabs, with iron webbing on top and then another couple of inches concrete poured onto that. Interior walls are brick as well.

that's why building contractors use those cranes. They have to haul hundreds of pallets of bricks and large buckets of mortar back and forth. Doing that by hand would be too costly. So whenever a contractor starts his work, first thing he does is to raise his crane. At least, he does for large projects. For small modification jobs they obviously don't bother.

A nice windy day to move the hammer.

Wouldn't have been pretty if it fell off the pallet with that swinging.

The wind wasn't that bad compared to other days. I had strapped it to the pallet but of course, if it starts to go, it's going.
