I got a power hammer!!!
I have been wanting a power hammer for some time now. But it's not like they are easy to come by or cheap. So I never seriously expected to have one. In fact I was actually thinking of a small press to get something going.
Then this morning out of the blue, I get contacted by a fellow bladesmith who is moving his shop and needed to get rid of his hammers stat. His new shop was a shared space and he and someone else were going to buy a big beast of a hammer. He wanted me to have it for a very democratic price so I said yes. I'll probably pick it up sometime next week or the week after when he has emptied out his existing shop.
This is it. It runs on standard 240 volts and has a 16 kilo ram.
With this and my new gas forge, I can finally do some interesting stuff efficiently and make more complex stuff.

Actually we are currently having a renovation project on the house.
If the contractor is still here in a week and a half, I may ask him to move it to the garden using his crane which just happens to be standing here.
Really this is just the thing I was hoping forTil shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 4828I am standing by for the pictures of the crazy new pattern welded steel projects. You are going to be able to make a lot of stuff on your own that you used to buy.

Even from here, I can already smell Damascus in the air! Nice "find!" Looking forward to seeing your projects.
