    First off Great job,

I learned a lot through your trials and tribulations plus the conversation in the thread.

As a side note I would also like to mention that your photography seemed to steadily improve as the grinder came into being....

    Thanks for all of it.

    Pat
And thank you for your compliments Pat,.. Both on the build and the photography. It's great to know that this thread could maybe help someone else out in their build...

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Wonderfull Now all that is left is to have OSHA inspect it. you will need gaurds on the pullys and decals about hearing protection,do not operate when drinking alcohol and all that crap good job.

Fantastic! Great grinder, excellent price. One question - is your motor a "closed frame"? If not, put some kind of filter on the cooling air in and out to keep steel dust out. You can make filters out of your lady's used panty hose. If metal dust gets into the guts of the motor, it will kill it. Been there, got the tee shirt.

Thank you... Yes, the motor is fully closed for dusty conditions. I made sure before buying it.

how did you deal with the structural steel and there being a weld in the center of the steel ? did it make the tooling arm rough going in and out ? I am trying to build my own now and was wondering
