    Default Questions for the Relapsers

Sometimes I think about using a cartridge razor especially when I'm rushed and do not have time to dedicate to using a straight. For those who have gone back or use a cartridge razor occasionally --- how does it compare to you now? What are the gripes and advantages --- just want to know ---- is it possible for all shavers to just hold hands and get along?

Its much harder to use a cartridge, get a DE razor, that works much better. Straight shavers don't hold hands, thus the term, straight.

Yeah well I meant boy- girl- boy -girl etc. ---- I mean women are shavers too ---- but I alway got really bad razor burn with cartridge razors which I suspect would be the case if I used them now --- DE razor? -- never have used one --- I'll take a closer look.

Yep it's a slippery slope to shaving gutterdom --- first a DE then a Fusion and then a disposable and then a ---- what next? ---- anybody know a Hotline for this?

    Justin,

This IS the hotline. If you slip away from us, there's nothing anyone can do for you.

Seriously, a DE is a good alternative. You can get nearly as good shaves as with a straight without messing with stropping and such. There's only one blade, so it causes less irritation. Blades are $.10 instead of $3. The blade is fixed so you have full control over the angles.

I used to spend 10 minutes a day shaving. With my Feather AC, I can do a one-and-a-half pass shave in 15 minutes or so that's much better than my Mock 3 shaves ever were. I'm getting faster, too, and I suspect I'll be able to do a decent one-pass shave in less than 5 minutes someday...

Thanks Josh --- no I don't want to give up with a straight but a backup for more stressed times would be nice --- sometimes I like the idea of the Feather AC or Dovo Shavettes -- at least to give them a try -- more of a best tool for the situation type of thing.

I used to switch back and forth when I first started using a straight razor. I finally decided to shave only with a straight. If I didn't have time I would just go without shaving! just recently I switched to shaving at night. So now the only excuse I have for not shaving is lazyness!
