NICE! All too often we get far too attached to our routines. I applaud your decision to not bow below your standards. I think that once you get your time management figured out you will wonder how you ever managed to have time to work. Retirement is not the end of work, just the end of working a traditional job. I am very very happy for you. This is going to be a great change in life, the next chapter you might say. Congratulations!

Roy, you know my thoughts on the subject. Just remember that you really don't know just how busy you are going to be now that you aren't doing a "9 to 5". I am at the same time busier than ever and lazier than ever and despite financial tightness enjoying it more than when I was dependent on an outside job.

The one major suggestion I do have is that you should establish a very regular schedule of awake and sleep. It is too easy to fall into a timeless pattern and end up lost in time.

I hear ya. Thinking of emptying out my desk where I work. Don't like the way things are going and I can't change it. Tired of fighting.

Good luck to you. PM me your phone number.

Dude, you are not done, until you are done… in the ground.

You are just beginning a new adventure. There is a ton for you to do, go to school, learn something you always wanted to know, take a new job, something you have wanted to do, it is amazing to work a job, when you don’t have to, volunteer your time to a worthwhile project, spend some time with your family, start a new hobby or expand an existing one.

The glass is half full, my friend and you are on the right side of the earth. People who survive adversity all have one thing in common, they accept their circumstances as the New Normal… whatever that is.

Enjoy your new life. Sounds to me like you made the right decision, staying would have killed you…

Congrats on moving forward. It is not a sad time in your life, it is a happy time. Time to celebrate your hard work and reflect on how you earned this. A door closes, another will open.
Enjoy your new life with renewed vigor.

As Satchel Paige said, "Don't look back, something may be gaining on you." Best of luck with your decision. I was apprehensive when I pulled the pin two years ago but it has worked out well for me.

I appreciate what you did! Did the same thing myself a couple of years ago, and realized I was better for having done it, I realized the old saying is true, "sometimes in order to fix something, you have to break it!"

This is probably just the thing you need, was obviously brewing for awhile, and I hope something better comes from it, and I'd lay odds that something will - congrats!
