Default Do you have a shaving budget?

I generally have been buying my shaving gear as I please. Some months I spend more, others I spend less. I recently, however, gave some thought to giving myself a budget...a certain amount every month or year for shaving related purchases.

Anyone out there have a shaving budget?

My reality sensor is my biggest enabler, my wife. She monitor my spending and she tells me when it is good enough. I couldn't put myself on a budget, lol.....

I don't really have a budget either. I pick up one or two off the bay clean polish hone and shave with them. Then i put them back on the bay and repeat the proccess. It's kind of a self supporting hobby. Although I may spend a little more than i make I toss it up to having fun. When i think i'm spending too much i remember when i smoked (3-4packs marlbow red) a day and in the earlier yrs. i drank a little (pint or more a day) and think i'm not spending that much.

When I first started SR shaving, I didn't really have a budget. I wanted to try many things. As time went by, my purchases decreased, since I realized that my soaps, creams and oils may outlive me. Having a lot of shave stuff, and bouncing from using one then another, really stretches the life of each soap and cream. I haven't purchased a new soap or cream in over a year now. However, now and then, I like to check out the aftershave lotions.

Now, a few years later, my spending has pretty much halted. I've gotten to the point of making my own aftershave splash, and I realize that I'm good... for now.

I don't actually budget a dollar amount but I typically have a certain amount of discretionary money I use for hobbies. Like you the amount varies month to month.
