bgertz: I thank you for the cheaper "alternatives"... I am finding that the "Dovo" is considered pretty good -- and seeings as how I have much to learn, I could consider buying something like that first then splurging the second time around...

Forgive my ignorance on the subject, but what are "scales"?

Yup! I dont believe in putting out all that money for a razor I wont shave with, but we also put a lot of time into keeping them clean and oiled, etc. I would be money that if your boyfriend found this site...he would be shaving with those razors in no time...that or he would start spending a LOT more money on razors to collect lol!

Scales are the handle of the razor. And the material your scales are mate of will GREATLY influence the price...and the collectible value of the razor.

Ahhh ok - I just read what scales were... alright - something to look out for!

Thats a nice razor actually. However, if you REALLY want to make a statement....get him this one....the blade is massive..I have 3 of these that I shave with, believe me...it makes a statement. It is a bit out of your price range...but it is pretty sexy IMO

LOL u guys!! I'm glad its not considered "girly"... I like that it's BUTCH I worry my taste slants towards whats pleasing to the eye, since I have no idea about functionality!

JL: That first razor is damn impressive and sexy!!! It is SO beautiful! Ok - now I really have to think!!

The second one is really unique I like the carving... Do the brands matter???
