Default How long does it take you to shave?

I enjoy taking my time, so I always give myself lots of extra time before heading off to work. Was wondered how long you took to shave?

Maybe five minutes to hit up the blade with alcohol, brush on some soap, spalsh with cold water after, tidy up. Probably about 10 minutes actually doing it and admiring the results ink:

I was just wondering the other day how many passes everyone does normally. I'm sure that would have a substantial effect on the time spent shaving. Although I could get by with one pass, I prefer two, as it gives me more practice doing something I love to do anyway, and it gets any stubble I may have inadvertantly missed the first time. Total time, about 15 minutes from intial prep to splash of aftershave.

I also do two passes, in about 15 min. But i think it removes more skin layers. With my mah3 i feel there is more skin left.

I must admit the slower I go the less chance I have of nicking myself. This is great on Saturday but during the week I usually have to put the petal to the metal and hence nick, nick, nick

I do two passes in about 15-20 minutes. I'm an early riser, I'm usually up a few of hours before I have to be at work. I still nick myself once in a while, but that's usually caused by me not paying close enough attention.

I selected 30min but 20 minutes would probably be more accurate for me, except on the weekend when I like to take my time. Then it is more like 30-45 minutes depending on my mood.

I'm with you Hal. I like taking my time and enjoying the experience. I have been doing this about 3 months and maybe with time I will not enjoy it, but for now 30-40 minutes are common for 2 passes. Now of course I am including plenty of face prep and clean up. Since this is all part of the shaving, I have never timed how long the actual shave takes.

I have found that in a pinch, I can shave one pass with quick prep in about 10 mins. with good results. But if speed was what I wanted, then I might as well use my Mach3.

I'm at about 20 minutes on a weekday and 30 on the weekends. I enjoy the shave so never rush. I am a 2 pass guy. Lather cheeks and neck, shave downward on cheeks and neck. Lather cheeks, shave up on cheeks then lather neck and shave up on neck. Rinse, apply aftershave du jour, dry and oil razor, admire the results then off to show wifey my baby butt smooth cheeeks. She smiles, chokes on the aftershave and asks if I cut myself.....total elapsed time, 20-30 minutes. Then I spent the 23 1/2 hours looking forward to the next shave.

    Tony,

I am with you on that. But that for me is perfecting the art. I want to see if I can make the next shave even better.
