Reminds me of humorist James Thurbur's quote,"He who lies down with dogs will get up with fleas." Speaking of ADs, I have to avoid going into gun shops and I can't even go near a gun show under any circumstances. A few years back a friend noticed that I had two Glock .40s. He wanted me to sell one of them to him. So I thought about it and deciding that I didn't need two I agreed to sell it. Wanting to offer it at a fair price I went to a local gun shop to see what a used one would go for. I walked out with a S&W 44mag from the custom shop that cost twice as much as what I sold the Glock for.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

All the (ads) are very easy to succumb to. It's is just so exciting to see a new package on the doorstep waiting to be opened. That's the most exciting part for me at least. It is kind of funny in my case, I love one of my razors so much, I only use it exclusively. I have two great blades collecting dust as the other hits the beard, hits the barber hone, hits the beard...You get the picture. Sometimes something just fits so well, it is hard to move away to something else.

Thanked: 29314! 14 razors is the number I told myself I would stop at. I'm at 10 (I think - I can't remember how many are on the way to me right now). Once I'm at 14, I will swap out my existing collection as necessary until I have THE 14 razors.
Also, there is something to be said about RADUI (RAD Under the Influence). At least 1/3 of the razors I bought came from classified browsing while intoxicated.

Yet another way would be to stay off Ebay altogether, limit yourself to our classifieds. Ther razors sell so quickly. You'd be limited...

I won't be something (with the only exception being something I really really want) unless its a great deal. (My prize so far is two NOS Solingens at $35) That's my way of doing it. I'm working my way up to a seven day solingen rotation, plus my current shaver (that little 4/8's ****ing POS is actually really nimble) as a trimmer. On my way there, so no one can say I didn't and so that I gain valuable experience, I am buying one each from different countries and trying them out. If I like them, I'll keep them. If I don't, I'll sell them. I found a LeCoultre (Swiss) but upon holding it and feeling it, didn't really like it. I didn't even buy it. (I did end up buying it for and shipping it out to Walt). I currently have a Fontenille (French) and a Rogers (English) to be sharpened. I think I am going to sell the Rogers. I don't like it right now, so unless it's a fantastic shave... The Frenchie looks and feels better though. We'll see how she shaves. Anyway. That's how I cope.
