Thanked: 51Well mine comes from my poker avatar which is a turtle and when people ask me why turbine, I say "cuz I'm the fastest one in the pond". The 712 is my birth month and 12 is the day. This keeps it easy for all of the site i visit that require names. This way I don't need to remember my pogin name since I have enough trouble remembering my own name LOL

Thanked: 2Mine comes from my first car, a beautiful old Buick Century; she had a whole lot of soul. '02 was the year she finally died (in a blaze of glory coming back from a Yankees game on the Maj Deegan Expressway). I miss her every day :-)

I needed something unique that wasn't my name. At the time I had recently bought an orange dirt bike and was pretty fast on it. I was going to do "FastOrangeBike", but thought it sounded stupid and cut off the bike part. Then I realized the soap I like to use is called Fast Orange...what's another word for fast? Quick

In the evenings I run a small Kenpo Karate school. Over the years I must admit I have put on a pound or two, a fact which my brother never let's me forget. On my 40th birthday (a long time ago, trust me!) we were having a cook-out/get together/party. One of my young students comes up to me and "bows" (a salute in Kenpo). That is not something you do outside the class much less when we are drinking beer and grilling hamburgers, so I asked him what the hell he thought he was doing. He said, "Is that not the way? Do you not show respect for the old ones?" Well, my Brother heard that and brust out laughing. "The old FAT ones you mean!", he said.
It kind of stuck.
